New baby
Do you need some recovery time?
Now that pregnancy massage is a distant memory and the self care seems to have slipped away, maybe it’s time to consider your very essential needs at this time. If you’ve ever understood the phrase ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’ then it may be now.
As midwives we can support your 4th trimester journey right from day one following birth. We are on hand to tailor your personal plan to recovery and restore health and wellbeing.
However you birthed your baby or are feeding your baby we have lots of midwife led therapies and services to offer you.
Some of our popular post birth options are…
Hydrotherm massage
This unique treatment is a top-to-toe massage whilst relaxing on the gentle support of a warm water mattress. Perfect for any type of birth and stage of postnatal period. Massage whilst laying on your back means no pressure on a caesarean scar or sensitive breasts as well as no awkward turning half way through.
If you are aching, struggling to relax or feel you need a physical and emotional reset then this could be the option for you.
Birth reflections
Sometimes birth doesn't go the way we expect, this can impact how you feel after your baby has arrived. It's really important to know your feelings are valid. If you would like to talk through your birth experience with an experienced midwife, drop us an email and we can arrange this with you.
Reflexology
This is a great complementary therapy to treat yourself to after birth. This can help aid sleep which encourages quality sleep even if you are not getting the quantity right now. It can also help improve mood and can help with fluctuating emotions that you may experience post birth. Reflexology can encourage general wellbeing, thus supporting your physical and emotional recovery after birth.
Post birth symptoms?
Just when pregnancy has ended with its swollen ankles and pelvic pain, along comes post birth with a new list of potential symptoms and challenges to navigate.
We have lots of combined experience caring for new parents and can assure you whatever it is, it’s likely we have seen it before. Our aim is to give you support, advice or just a place to come and be heard. Some of the symptoms we can support with therapies or midwifery services are…
- Pain and tension
- Insomnia/ struggling to relax
- Stress and overwhelm
- Lactation (milk production)
- Anxiety and low mood
- Haemorrhoids
- Swelling

Time passes quickly so they say, so now is a great time to make some precious memories. Here at the midwives circle we love to meet your new arrival and capture the moments with our 3d casting creations.
Casting those tiny toes (and fingers) are a great way to remember these early days and to realise just how quickly they grow!
We can even get siblings or adults involved in making a whole family event and making sure everyone gets a go.

I can honestly say all my nerves about labour had disappeared & I felt super confident & actually excited about putting all that I had learnt in to practice as & when the time came for our little one to arrive. Katie is not only a fantastic hypnobirthing teacher but also a beautiful caring individual who was there for me both pre & post birth answering all my million and one questions & helping me with the transition in to the 4th trimester.
Whilst the midwives I had during my labour were fantastic, if I had the choice I would have loved for Katie to have been my midwife.

I was so lucky to have a shorter and more calm labour and I know these treatments will have helped prepare me for that.
Thank you for being such a calm presence and for creating such a peaceful environment to relax in and a safe space during the pandemic. If you are thinking of having reflexology, definitely go for it with Natalie! x
